Description: For this FEMA 5-year, $10M, 70-Task Order Project G&O provided nationwide technical expertise to evaluate buildings, structures, and infrastructure affected by disasters. G&O also researched engineering, construction, and land-use practices to help FEMA in its mission to strengthen national building codes.
Significant Facts:
- Received the 2003 National Honor Award from the Consulting Engineers Council of MD, and the 2003 Engineering Excellence Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for the World Trade Center Building Performance Study.
- Tasks included publications, outreach and training, code monitoring, repetitive loss technical assistance, and other technical assistance.
- Formed Mitigation Assessment Team for Hurricane Charley, World Trade Center attacks, and tornadoes in Oklahoma and Kansas.
