Will is an urban planner with our Community Development team. Having graduated from Portland State University with a degree in architecture, with an emphasis in urban design, urban planning, and urban studies, he’s passionate about the many ways the built environment influences our quality of life—including social well-being, cultural respect, and environmental, economic, and physical health.
With over eight years of progressive experience in municipal government planning, Will brings his experience to our team. Before he joined us, he was a planner for the City of Bismarck, North Dakota. He was involved in planning activities, downtown design review, site plan review, and a variety of special projects he spearheaded and managed—including the formation and staffing of a Historic Preservation Commission, implementation of electric vehicle charging stations, and several grant funded projects. Currently, he focuses on urban design, zoning code analysis, public engagement, and brownfield and small area revitalization plans.
When he’s not planning urban spaces, Will enjoys gardening, creating art, bicycling, cooking, and exercising his architectural design skills for remodeling his mid-century historic home.
